Alpharetta Schedules Household Hazardous Waste Collection

The city's event, for residents only, will be held April 1 at its Public Works Department.

ALPHARETTA, GA -- City of Alpharetta residents will soon have a chance to recycle or properly dispose of household hazardous items and paint taking up valuable space inside their homes.

The city will host a one-day recycling collection event from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, April 1 where its residents can drop off items such as paint and paint related substances, gasoline that isn’t usable, home and garden chemicals, poisons and many other substances.

The event is for Alpharetta residents only; no businesses will be allowed to participate.

There is no charge for disposal of acceptable items, but pre-registration is required for participation and can be done here. A complete list of acceptable items can also be found on the registration form.

Once registered, items will be accepted between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. April 1 at the Alpharetta Public Works Department with no exceptions. Residents will be instructed to remain in their vehicle at the collection site while technicians unload their vehicles.

Registration forms must be submitted by March 30 (you will get a return confirmation once submitted). Bring the confirmation form along with your items to the collection on April 1. Please be sure to safely transport items to the collection site by keeping them in original containers and separated.
