If that’s the case, then you should consider donating that used bicycle to Bikes For Kids, a program designed to help make kids’ holiday wishes come true by providing bicycles to families in need.
The city of Alpharetta, North Fulton Community Charities and Bike Alpharetta are once again partnering to collect, repair and refurbish donated bikes. This year’s collection will be held Nov. 16-22 at the Alpharetta Department of Public Safety, all Alpharetta fire stations and several area bike shops.

Additional information on donation sites can be found at www.bikealpharetta.org.
Donations are 100 percent tax deductible. Since 2007, hundreds of bicycles, tricycles and scooters have been donated by friends and neighbors across Alpharetta and surrounding communities to be refurbished for the North Fulton Community Charities’ Santa Shop, which provides holiday gifts for underprivileged families.
Volunteers are also needed to help clean and ready donated bikes on Saturday, Dec. 5. Volunteers will be needed throughout the day and are asked to bring old towels and cloths to be used to clean bikes.
The bike cleanup day will be held from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 1175 Northmeadow Parkway in Roswell, a warehouse provided by BPG Management.
Bikes for Kids, founded by the Mullenbach Family in Johns Creek is now managed by Bike Alpharetta, Inc., a 501c3 nonprofit advocacy organization that promotes safe and fun cycling in north Fulton County.
The organization’s goal is to provide 300 quality, gently-used or new bicycles and tricycles to North Fulton Community Charities. Visit www.bikealpharetta.org for more details.
