Alpharetta Technology Commission To Host Annual Dinner

The dinner celebrates the growing technology industry in Alpharetta and is expected to draw hundreds of business representatives.

ALPHARETTA, GA -- The Alpharetta Technology Commission will recognize the growth in the industry throughout the city wit its annual Technology Dinner scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 14.

This year's keynote speaker will be Todd Van Nurden, U.S. CTO of Microsoft's Technology Centers.

“Alpharetta is home to more than 640 technology companies," said Alpharetta Technology Commission CEO Karen Cashion. "The ATC’s Annual Technology Dinner celebrates Alpharetta’s thriving technology industry and recognizes key developments in that local industry during 2017. The ATC’s Dinner is the largest technology event of the year in Alpharetta and a unique opportunity to learn about what’s happening in Alpharetta’s technology ecosystem.”

Comprised of Alpharetta’s leading tech companies, the ATC Board of Directors aims to impact key policy and investment decisions in technology. Van Nurden, a 15-year Microsoft veteran who oversees all of the company’s major technology initiatives, will headline the evening event and present on “Pushing the Boundaries of Human-Computer Interaction.”

“Todd is one of the country’s premier authorities on the ways we engage with technology, and we’re honored to showcase his work and leadership at this year’s dinner,” Cashion added.

Alpharetta Mayor David Belle Isle will also speak at the event, presenting on the state of the Alpharetta technology industry.

Between 200 and 300 technology and business executives are expected to attend the ATC Annual Technology Dinner, along with ATC board members. In addition, the ATC will honor the achievements of Fulton Science Academy’s all-female robotics team, Control+Alt+Delete, by presenting them with the inaugural ATC STEAM Trailblazer Award.
