Alpharetta Warns You To 'Drive Sober Or Get Pulled Over'

The Alpharetta Department of Public Safety is taking part in the statewide Operation Zero Tolerance campaign.

The Alpharetta Department of Public Safety’s participation in the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety Operation Zero Tolerance campaign is now underway, the agency said on its Facebook page.

As residents celebrate the New Year’s holiday period, Alpharetta police remind motorists to drive sober, drive safely, obey traffic laws and to wear your seatbelts.

Each year across our nation, thousands of motorists lose their lives due to alcohol involved vehicle crashes. Drunken driving victims are not a statistic; they are someone’s family member, relative, friend or child, Alpharetta police said.

“During the New Year weekend, Alpharetta police will be aggressively enforcing traffic laws with a special emphasis placed on those who speed and drive while under the influence of alcohol or drugs,” the agency wrote. ”Don’t go to jail. Use alternatives such as a designated driver, a ride share service, taxi or Uber. The life you save may be your own.”
