New Mexican Eatery To Open In Alpharetta

ALPHARETTA, GA — A grand opening on Friday is planned for a new Mexican eatery that now calls Alpharetta home.

Amasa Mexican Kitchen will open at Alpharetta City Center, filling the space formerly held by Jekyll Brewing. It is located at 15 Academy St., Ste. 1E.

Earlier in the year, Patch spoke with TQM Hospitality, the restaurant group that owns Amasa. TQM also owns Buena Vida Tapas and Chichería Mexican Kitchen.

The vibe at Amasa will promote a social, family-friendly atmosphere while boasting a fully gluten-free menu that features seafood and Mexican style.

"Bringing Amasa to Alpharetta is incredibly exciting for us," owner Juan Calle said in a news release. "We're building on what guests already love about Chichería while introducing new experiences, from our seafood-forward menu to our tequila program and live entertainment. We can't wait to welcome the community."

Sweet corn esquites, gourmet tacos, baked oysters, a Baja surf roll, carne asada fries, a Baja Cali caeser salad, a shrimp lobster quesadilla, a tuna tostada and a chorizo smash burger are on the soft opening menu at Amasa. Churros and chocolate tres leches are part of the dessert menu.

There will be a ribbon cutting, as well as complimentary drinks and appetizers, at the free grand opening, organizers said.

Here's the full schedule:

• Live music: 2:30–3:30 p.m.
• One complimentary welcome drink per person for the first 150 guests: 2:30–3:30 p.m.
• Ribbon cutting: 3 p.m.
• Passed appetizers for the first 150 guests: 3:30–4:30 p.m.

Dinner service will begin at 5 p.m., and reservations will become available starting at 6 p.m.
