National Charity League of Milton Hosts Mother-Daughter Tea

The National Charity League, Inc., Milton Chapter (NCL Milton Chapter) hosted its first Mother-Daughter Tea on Sunday, Nov. 11, 2012. More than 200 mothers and daughters donned their hats and party dresses to attend the event, which was held at the Falls of Autry Mill subdivision clubhouse.

As part of the event, the NCL Milton Chapter collected more than 100 toys, which are being donated to the Foster Care Support Foundation for needy children approaching the holiday season. Foster Care Support Foundation, which is located in Roswell, is a non-profit organization that provides free clothing, toys and safe infant care to thousands of Georgia’s foster children.

“NCL is all about moms and daughters working together to help others,” said Cathy Groff, event chairwoman. “The tea provided both a wonderful cultural experience and an opportunity for us to serve those in need.”

Hadley Masters, a 10th grader at Milton High School, said she had never attended a tea before the NCL event and
enjoyed it. “I really liked mingling and getting to know other people,” she said.

Added Emily Nolan, also a 10th grader at Milton High School: “NCL is fun. It helps charities and the community.”
