Art Sculpture Installed In Downtown Alpharetta

Twist & Shout by Duke Oursler is located at the corner of Canton and Old Canton streets.

ALPHARETTA, GA — Thursday was an exciting day in Alpharetta, as one of four unique outdoor art sculptures was installed in the downtown area.

Arts Alpharetta's project, Instruments of Inspiration, consists of four contemporary art sculptures with a musical theme. The first piece, Twist & Shout, was created by artist Duke Oursler. He describes this work of art "as a dance-like composition consisting of form and color that loosely represents a musical note," Arts Alpharetta notes.

Oursler is a graduate of Georgia Southern University — with a masters in fine arts sculpture — and is known for his passion for "creating public art works that distinguish significant qualities of evolving communities and cultures," his website notes.
