Atlanta Silverbacks Soccer Team to offer free soccer clinic to all students at Amana Academy

Alpharetta, GA - On Tuesday, March 21st, players from the Atlanta Silverbacks soccer team will host a free soccer clinic to all 750 students at Amana Academy, a K-8, STEM-certified Charter School. Alpharetta resident and Atlanta Silverbacks managing partner Phoday Dolleh will be present at Amana Academy on Wednesday to facilitate the clinic. “Part of the Silverbacks’ mission is to support health and fitness in our youth through soccer and to help grow the sport in the city. We are excited to partner with Amana Academy, which allows us to encourage our young people to stay fit while enjoying the fundamentals of soccer,” said Dolleh.

Atlanta Silverbacks Managing Partner and General Manager Phoday Dolleh and Alvin Glay recently attended the “Be the Change” banquet to raise money for Amana Academy on March 4, 2017. The Atlanta Silverbacks have offered to donate a portion of ticket sales to Silverbacks games back to Amana’s after school programs to support their health and fitness initiatives.

Amana Academy Executive Director Ehab Jaleel expressed an interest in using the funds donated from the Atlanta Silverbacks to partner with the Alpharetta Parks Department for new soccer equipment, or possibly even a new soccer field to complement Wills Park, which is adjacent property to Amana Academy.

Jaleel stated, “The Alpharetta Parks Department has been a great community partner for us, offering the use of the park for our students’ use in their PE classes and recess. We would like to continue to contribute to the relationship, and we believe offering part of our property to be developed as a soccer field, available for use by the City of Alpharetta, would be a wonderful way to give back.”

The Atlanta Silverbacks players will be on-site at Amana Academy and in Wills Park on Tuesday, March 21st and Wednesday March 29th.
