Attorney Donates Legal Assistance To Milton Police, Firefighters
John C. Hill of Bettis, Hill & Vann is utilizing his expertise to assist the Milton First Responders Foundation.

MILTON, GA -- A local attorney is using his background to help Milton officers and firefighters navigate routine legal decisions.
John C. Hill of Bettis, Hill & Vann, a law firm specializing in wills, estates and trusts, has "stepped up in a big way by donating many hours of his time" to help first responders with legal services, the Milton First Responders Foundation said.
Hill personally drafted 39 wills, powers of attorney and medical directives for first responders and their spouses. This equates to $25,000 worth of work had he would have charged for these services. Due to the innate hazards of their professions, it is crucial that first responders have these documents in order to protect their families should the unthinkable happen.

“It was an honor to work (with) these local heroes," Hill said.
Comprised entirely of volunteers, the Milton First Responders Foundation uses 100 percent of its profits from fundraising events to support its mission: to help the city's first responders injured in the line of duty, enduring family hardships or purchase necessary/non-budgeted equipment and materials.

In order to carry out its mission and increase community awareness, the Foundation is building a team of volunteers willing to offer their time and talents to support various activities throughout the year.
These could include volunteering at an event, earning service hours for school or work or donating products/services/gifts to be used for raffles and silent auction items. Volunteers are not obliged to commit to any certain number of hours and can select which activities fit their schedules and interests.
