ALPHARETTA, GA — Five years ago on Oct. 30, 2014, North American Properties cut the ribbon on Avalon, Alpharetta’s $1 billion community featuring best-in-class retail, Class A office, luxury residences, an Autograph Collection hotel and highly programmed community gathering places. Avalon has become an icon in the industry and a mainstay in the community, debuting a new model for dense, walkable mixed-use development in the suburbs and spurring growth across North Fulton county. In advance of its five-year anniversary, North American Properties announced that EVEREVE will join Avalon’s curated collection of retailers.

Fashion and styling company EVEREVE will open its second Georgia location at Avalon in early 2020. Recognized for its personalized styling experience and outstanding customer service, EVEREVE is one of the fastest growing women’s fashion retail brands in the country.

“We have long-time, loyal customers in the Atlanta area, and it seems each day we get requests asking for an EVEREVE store in Alpharetta,” said Mike Tamte, co-Founder and co-CEO of EVEREVE. "Avalon is a beautiful destination for shopping, dining and entertainment and we're thrilled to join the community and to celebrate this milestone anniversary."

Earlier this month, family-owned contemporary bookstore Posman Books reopened along The Boulevard debuting its new, sensory-driven prototype inspired by the 1960s lava lamp. To enhance the guest experience, the store places a strong emphasis on lighting and creates a soothing space for shoppers to browse, skim and read.

This fall, Avalon welcomes Tennessee-based women’s fashion boutique Altar’d State. Known for its empowering, faith-based shopping experience, the boho chic retailer will open adjacent to The Plaza, Avalon’s central community gathering space. In November, True Food Kitchen, an award-winning restaurant and bar known for its health-conscious dining, will join the destination’s famed culinary lineup. Located on the west end of Avalon Boulevard across from Crate & Barrel, True Food Kitchen will feature an expansive, 4,000-square-foot outdoor patio, perfect for al fresco dining.

Additional retail happenings at Avalon include the opening of a CHANEL Fragrance and Beauté boutique, a 1,000 square-foot space offering guests an inspiring, unique shopping environment. Anchored by a large makeup discovery area and surrounded by one-on-one consultation areas, the boutique invites clients to touch and play with the latest color collection and classic products, or select a personalized makeup application. Additionally, the boutique features CHANEL Eyewear, offering a wide array of shapes and sizes.

The final component of the project, a new 10-story Class A office building named 10000 Avalon, is expected to welcome office tenants in early 2020. 10000 Avalon is being developed as a joint-venture between world-class developers Hines and Cousins.

“Avalon has surpassed all expectations,” said Mark Toro, managing partner of North American Properties. “I remember gazing at the mound of Georgia red clay five years ago and imagining the possibilities with the city, the community and our team of ExperienceMakers. Together, we built something special that has influenced the future of retail-driven mixed-use development. Ironically, our secret sauce has nothing to do with the buildings, and everything to do with the community that is created in the spaces between the buildings.”

Since its inception, Avalon has added 4,500 jobs, increased property values within its zip code, influenced surrounding commercial investment and generated $17 million in annual tax revenue. The destination, known for its resort-level hospitality, has hosted more than 1,000 events and raised more than $500,000 for charities. Its second-generation retailers are leasing at twice the original rental rates and all real estate uses are outperforming the market. From New Hampshire to Oklahoma and beyond, real estate developers and municipalities from around the world (including a group from Australia) have toured Avalon and are pointing to the project as an example of the type of development they hope to recreate in their own cities.

In celebration of its five-year milestone, Avalon is inviting the community to “Toast to Avalon,” an exclusive restaurant crawl on Oct. 30 from 5 to 9 p.m. All proceeds for the event will benefit North Fulton Community Charities, one of Avalon’s long-time community partners.

“Over the years, our Ritz-Carlton trained Concierge has helped host marriage proposals, gender reveals, surprise parties, first visits with Santa and countless more memorable moments,” said Cayley Mullen, marketing and hospitality manager at North American Properties. “We are grateful to our neighbors for making Avalon their go-to gathering place, and we look forward to celebrating this milestone anniversary with our beloved community.”

Tickets are now on sale and priced at $25 per attendee. Interested guests are encouraged to purchase tickets soon, as the event is limited to 200 attendees. To purchase tickets, visit: experienceavalon.com/toast-to-avalon.
