Avalon To Host Weekend-Long 'Say Goodbye To Summer' Bash

ALPHARETTA, GA — The new school year is right around the corner, but the summer fun is far from over at Avalon in Alpharetta. From Aug. 9 to 11, the community is invited to the mixed-use destination for Say Goodbye to Summer, a weekend-long, luau-themed bash benefiting North Fulton Community Charities (NFCC).

Avalon, 4140 Avalon Blvd., has partnered with NFCC to host a Back-to-School Supply Drive to help equip children with the supplies needed to succeed in the classroom. Shoppers are invited to bring new school supplies to Concierge throughout the weekend and will receive a special event swag item upon donation. The list of accepted items can be viewed here.

After dropping off supplies at Concierge, guests will receive a stroll map listing the exclusive back-to-school deals and in-store happenings at participating Avalon retailers. In addition to the retailer specials, guests can experience the following events and activities throughout the weekend:

• Friday, Aug. 9 – Kickoff the weekend with live music by The Classics, face painting and activities in The Plaza from 6 to 9 p.m. Guests can also enjoy lite bites from Avalon’s restaurants and adult beverages from an outdoor tiki bar.
• Saturday, Aug. 10 – At 3:40 p.m., Mahealani’s Polynesian Entertainment will perform a special hula dance performance in the Plaza before venturing throughout the property. From 4 to 8 p.m., guests can dance away back-to-school blues with live music in the Plaza from Blanton Reed Band.
• Sunday, Aug. 11 – The sponsors of Little Acorns will be onsite in the Plaza from 12 to 2 p.m., followed by a performance from Wesley Cook Trio from 2 to 6 p.m. Paper Source will host a Summer Arts Prints & Card Class from 2 to 4 p.m. in-store. The cost to attend the class is $40 per person.
