Avalon Rolls Out Live Music Series

From Avalon: This weekend, mixed-use community Avalon in Alpharetta will host its first “Boulevard East Unplugged” concert on Sunday, Sept. 2 from 4 to 7 p.m. The weekly series welcomes the North Fulton community to enjoy live music by local artists in the Courtyard near Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams each Sunday in September.

The collection of local talent participating in the Boulevard East Unplugged series includes performing musicians from Matilda’s Music Under the Pines, a gallery of contemporary and folk art with a music venue that showcases local and regional artists. Guests of the event are invited to enjoy a SundayFunday featuring smooth tunes, shopping, and of course, craft cocktails perfect for sipping and strolling along The Boulevard.

The Boulevard East Unplugged schedule features:

• September 9 – Cole Thannisch
• September 16 – Danika and the Jeb
• September 23 – Mandi Strachota
• September 30 – Kate Coleman

In addition to the live music this weekend, Avalon will host several other Labor Day festivities for the community to experience, including the fourth annual Oak & Colletta Pig Roast, and deals and promotions from Avalon’s famed retailers.

“Labor Day weekend is a great time to relax and celebrate the end of summer with your closest friends and family, and we’ve got a vibrant lineup of entertainment happening along The Boulevard in honor of the holiday,” said Cayley Mullen, marketing and hospitality manager at Avalon. “From live music to food and beverage to shopping, Avalon has something for everyone to enjoy this weekend and we look forward to closing out the season with the community.”

During the Oak & Colletta 2018 Pig Out on Sunday, Sept. 2, foodies will enjoy all-you-can-eat backyard-style barbeque from chefs Jason Stern and Stuart Rogers while saying farewell to summer. The event will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. in Palmer Plaza between the two restaurants and feature lawn games, a photo booth, face painting, specialty cocktails and more. Fare will include brisket, pulled pork, chicken and rib specials, an array of sides, including mac n’ cheese, corn on the cobb, beans, potato salad, cornbread, cole slaw and dessert. Tickets are available here for $40 per adult and $20 per child ages 6 to 12, plus, all children 5 and under are free.
