ALPHARETTA, GA — A construction worker reported finding bones near Alpharetta City Hall, but police confirmed they belonged to an animal not human.

On July 29 just before 4:30 p.m., Alpharetta Police went to 11935 Haynes Bridge Road for a report of a possible human bone located in a construction site.

A worker told police he and his crew were digging at the construction site and came across a bone that was possibly human, according to a police report. The man said it is not uncommon to find bones while digging so his crew continued to dig.

However, a short time later the crew located a pair of men's boxer shorts that appeared to have been cut. That's when the workers called police to investigate.

Public Information Officer Sgt. Howard Miller confirmed July 30 that the bones were determined to be animal bones, not human remains.
