ALPHARETTA, Ga. — A new restaurant featuring an Indian street food concept is opening soon in downtown Alpharetta.

Chef and restaurateur Meherwan Irani pays homage to the lively Irani cafes of India with his restaurant Botiwalla. With a location in Atlanta’s Ponce City Market, and upcoming outposts in Alpharetta’s City Center and Charlotte’s Optimist Hall, Botiwalla is part of the culinary empire built by Irani, executive chef and founder of Chai Pani Restaurant Group.

In 2009, Irani quit his day job in sales and along with his wife Molly opened their first restaurant, Chai Pani, an Indian street food joint in downtown Asheville, North Carolina, the website said. He is now onto his fifth restaurant.
