Botiwalla To Serve Indian Specialties In Heart Of Alpharetta

Get ready to chow down on some serious chaat, Alpharetta! Botiwalla is thrilled to announce a second location of its dynamic eatery, set to debut in the Alpharetta City Center development later this year. The one-of-a-kind casual Indian concept will serve up delicious grilled meats, paneer, kababs off the sigri, fresh naan, chaat (small plates), salads and more.

Meherwan Irani, three-time James Beard nominated chef and creator of Botiwalla, is determined to change the perception of Indian cuisine in America and his quest for celebrating a culture like no other continues with this next development. The Botiwalla team searched high and low for a location for the second outpost, and found Alpharetta City Center to be the perfect fit for the brand, with a tight knit community and recent revitalization of downtown Alpharetta.

“For those of you who have been to Ponce City Market, you know that Botiwalla is a high-energy, open-market feel,” said Meherwan Irani. “This new space that we picked gives that same feeling with the large windows, open concept and the location in the heart of the square. We want to blur the line between indoor and outdoor, as any true street food eatery would, and we are really excited about the other tenants in city center and the mix of local, independent, brands, along with some larger curated brands.”

Botiwalla encompasses the passion and atmosphere of traditional Irani cafes found throughout India with a modern twist. The menu pays homage to Meherwan’s love of all things grilled, featuring dishes like spicy lamb kababs, tandoori marinated chicken, smoky grilled paneer, warm naan from the tandoor, vibrant, fresh herbs and seasonings, bright and flavorful salads and handmade sodas flavored with turmeric, tamarind, and raspberries.

Botiwalla’s look is evocative of classic Irani cafes, with the hustle and bustle of a street corner in Mumbai. The fun continues withirreverent and tasty libations such as boozy slushies, Indian inspired cocktails, and ice cold Indian and local beer to wash down the spicy deliciousness. Rounding out the marketplace type dining experience, Botiwalla will sell swag, merchandise, spice blends from Irani’s newest spice concept, Spicewalla, and fun Indian oddities and discoveries.

Irani’s goal is to create authentic Indian fare with a contemporary spin for all to enjoy. A blend of everything American diners think they know about Indian cuisine, and everything they do not. Starting with his now legendary restaurant Chai Pani, the Indian born yet thoroughly Americanized chef is pushing boundaries and challenging the norms of what Indian food in America looks like.

The restaurant will be a part of the Alpharetta City Center, which encompasses 26 acres and expands over six blocks in downtown Alpharetta. The development from Morris & Fellows has created a downtown district that fits seamlessly into the surrounding buildings from the 19th and early 20th centuries. Visitors will find unique shopping and the dining experiences with numerous local and handcrafted touches, one-of-a-kind architecture and connected green spaces and outdoor seating.
