The Alpharetta Department of Public Safety recently paid tribute to an 11-year-old boy whose actions help save the life of his mother.

Hayden Hardy called 911 May 15 after his mom, Tonya Brady, collapsed due to a “serious life-threatening medical emergency,” the agency said.
Hayden provided the essential information needed by Alpharetta 911 dispatchers to quickly send emergency first responders to their location for help.

“Because of his bravery and remarkable actions, emergency first responders were able to arrive quickly and provide emergency medical services to his mother, which led to a successful outcome,” the agency said.
To honor Hayden’s quick thinking, Alpharetta public safety crews provided the boy with a ride from his home to Bruster’s Real Ice Cream on Old Milton Parkway. Hayden was greeted at the ice cream shop by other police and fire personnel.
Along with a chance to explore the fire engine, he was also awarded the Certificate of Bravery by the agency.
