Boy Scouts To Host Document Shredding Event in Milton

Boy Scout Troop 3000 will also accept small electronics to recycle at its June 10 event, which will be held at Birmingham UMC.

MILTON, GA -- A local Boy Scout troop will soon provide you with a chance to get rid of various documents collecting dust and taking up space in your home office.

Boy Scout Troop 3000 will host a paper shredding and electronics recycling event from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, June 10 at Birmingham United Methodist Church in Milton.

Small electronics will be accepted at no charge, and the boys will provide document shredding for $5 per box (limited to 10 boxes per vehicle).

Items that will be accepted at no charge include:

  • Keyboards
  • Outdoor grills
  • Lawn mowers (fluids must be drained)
  • Scrap metal
  • Cell phones
  • Appliances (fluids must be drained)

Items that will be accepted for a fee are:

  • Televisions ($25)
  • Computer monitors ($25)

Please do not bring paint, household hazardous materials, yard waste, non-electric or non-metal items. Cash and checks will be accepted as forms of payment and proceeds will benefit the Milton Boy Scout Troop 3000.
