Atlanta History Center 
Start them young – it’s what is said when buying newborn babies team jersey onesies and bringing them to local games before they can even talk. Being a sports fan is often less about the team itself and more about the tradition, heritage, and identity. It’s a lifelong connection to family and neighbors, a way to teach kids about pride and loyalty from an early age.
Atlanta has plenty of teams across all sports worthy of this type of dedication – and since the History Center also believes “starting them young” also applies to instilling in children a lifelong love of history and learning – we are excited to announce the new era of the Goizueta Children’s Experience will be Atlanta Sports, a brand-new sports-themed installation in May 2026!
Bartow History Center 
A new exhibit on display highlights recent discoveries made through ongoing research and analysis of artifacts within the museum’s collection. The exhibit showcases how careful examination, cleaning, and comparative research can reveal new information about objects that have been part of the collection for years.
One of the exhibit’s featured discoveries includes a fragment initially believed to be stone that was later identified as lead during the review process. Because lead is a toxic material, the object has been safely contained and incorporated into the display using appropriate precautions. The exhibit offers visitors a closer look at the behind-the-scenes work involved in artifact research and interpretation while highlighting how continued study can uncover new stories within the museum’s collection.
High Museum of Art 
Los Porfiados (The Stubborns) 
Created by Chilean creative studio gt2P, "Los Porfiados (The Stubborns)" is inspired by the classic roly-poly wobbling toy known in Chile as “mono porfiado.” The 14 sculptures, some measuring up to 17 feet tall, will come to life through human interaction and play, transforming the High Museum of Art’s Carroll Slater Sifly Piazza with collective movement that explores collaboration and the construction of public space. When activated, the sculptures become a living metaphor for resilience, understood not as rigidity, but as adaptability: the capacity to move with others, to be displaced and to return to balance. Each sculpture responds to individual action while also becoming part of a larger whole, created by accumulated gestures. In this way, the installation reflects how public space is not only designed but enacted and built through presence, interaction, and shared experience.
