One Last Summer Quest: 7 Atlanta Museums to Explore for Free Before School Starts with Museums on Us

Bank of America cardholders can receive free general admission to seven Metro Atlanta cultural attractions August 1 - 2 through the Museums on Us® program.

Bank of America’s Museums on Us® program provides Bank of America, Merrill and Bank of America Private Bank credit and debit cardholders with free general admission to more than 225 cultural institutions nationwide on the first full weekend of each month.

For more than 25 years, Museums on Us has expanded access to some of the nation’s leading cultural institutions while helping drive new audiences to partner museums. Cardholders can use the Museums on Us location finder to search for participating institutions. With locations across the country, the program offers a wide range of experiences for all interests.

More Perfect Union: The American Civil War Era

Now open at Atlanta History Center, More Perfect Union: The American Civil War Era is the first phase of the History Center's most ambitious exhibition to date. Debuting during the History Center's centennial year, the new permanent exhibition reexamines one of the nation's most defining periods through immersive storytelling, groundbreaking scholarship, rare artifacts, and innovative technology. This exhibition goes beyond the battlefield to explore the people, ideas, and enduring questions that continue to shape American identity.

High Museum of Art
"Isamu Noguchi: 'I am not a designer'"

Although Isamu Noguchi declared in 1949, “I am not a designer,” the internationally acclaimed artist’s work exemplifies the broadest definition of design. The High presents the artist’s first design retrospective in more than 20 years, featuring nearly 200 objects, many never exhibited and rarely seen, spanning all facets of his creative output. The exhibition also coincides with the 50th anniversary of “Playscapes,” a bicentennial gift for the city of Atlanta commissioned by the High in collaboration with the City of Atlanta Parks Department and the only one of Noguchi’s playgrounds built in the United States during his lifetime. The exhibit will close on August 2

Savoy Automobile Museum
The temporary exhibit, From Stock Cars to Racecars, explores the evolution from original stock cars to the high-tech modernization of today’s racing machines. The exhibit includes cars driven by: Junior Johnson, Richard Petty, Darrell Waltrip, Bill Elliott, Jeff Gordon, Dale Earnhardt, Jr, and others. The exhibit is open now through September 27, 2026.

Mazes and Brain Games
Wind your way through this twisting, climbing, head-scratching interactive exhibit that will challenge the whole family from the very first step. Can your eyes actually lie to you? Find out in the Maze of Illusions where nothing is what it seems. Think you’re coordinated? Feeling ambitious? Build your own maze from scratch, then dare others to solve it. From giant finger mazes to brain-busting puzzle tables, art you can touch, and a labyrinth library, there are surprises to be found around every single corner.
