Cambridge High School Chorus Achieves First-Year Honors
Karlie Allen and Sarah Clements participated in the American Choral Directors National Honor Choir recently.

As Fulton County’s newest high school, Cambridge High School in Milton has racked up many “firsts” this school year. Among these is the success of the Cambridge Choral Department. Despite being a new program with fewer than 50 students, Cambridge choral students have received state and national recognition.
This past November, ten Cambridge students participated in the Georgia Music Educators Association District V Honor Chorus: Karlie Allen, Peter Brown, Sarah Clements, Emily Evans, Lauren Holliger, Amanda McManus, Shreya Visvanathan, Jared Williams, Matthew Wynne, and Hunter Wynne.
In February, three Cambridge students performed in Savannah as part of the Georgia Music Educators Association’s All-State Chorus. Sarah Clements, Emily Evans, and Marta Palombo were selected to participate in the prestigious All-State Chorus following a rigorous two-step audition process.
In March, Cambridge singers Karlie Allen and Sarah Clements traveled to Dallas, Texas to sing with the American Choral Directors Association (ACDA) National Honor Choir. The ACDA has approximately 22,000 choral directors representing more than one million singers across the country. Selection to be part of such a prestigious choir is an honor for the choral students, and for the Cambridge High School choral program.
Dominique Petite is the Cambridge High School Director of Choral Activities. Ms. Petite holds Bachelors and Masters degrees in Choral Music Education from Florida State University, and has more than 10 years of teaching experience, including building a successful program at Brookwood High School before joining the staff at Cambridge.
Here are a couple of upcoming opportunities to enjoy the talents of the Cambridge Chorus.
- April 16 at 7 p.m. - The Cambridge Choral Boosters present the Cambridge Cabaret, a talent exhibition of Cambridge students. This is a fundraising event to help support the new chorus program. Tickets are $10 and are available in advance by email: b_mcmanus@comcast.net.
- April 30 at 7 p.m. – Cambridge High School Choral Concert. Free and open to the public.
Come enjoy the talents and success of these young singers as they continue to grow an already high achieving program at Cambridge High School.
