Cambridge High School Graduate Receives CH2M HILL Scholarship

Kyle Mantay, a graduate of Cambridge High School in Milton, has received one of six $1,500 CH2M HILL Henry Huffman Memorial Scholarships for 2014, awarded to children of CH2M HILL employees.
Mantay is now a freshman at Georgia Southern University studying civil engineering. While at Cambridge, he participated in varsity baseball, Habitat For Humanity and the Tech Club, and community activities such as Walk for Hunger and Relay for Life, while maintaining a 3.5 grade point average. After completing his undergraduate degree, Mantay wants to pursue a master’s degree in civil or environmental engineering. He is the son of Shannon and Jon Mantay.

Mantay is director of municipal and transportation facilities for CH2M HILL.
Applications for the non-renewable scholarships are open to employees’ children who are high school seniors, high school graduates, or first-year undergraduate students enrolled or planning to enroll in a full-time course of study at an accredited two- or four-year university. Applications are judged by a team of university experts, and recipients are selected based on SAT/ACT scores, high school grades, activities and an essay submitted as part of the application process.

CH2M HILL established the scholarship program in 2001 to help employees with the cost of education and to encourage students to pursue higher education. The program was renamed in honor of Huffman, a CH2M HILL employee for 17 years, who passed away in 2006.
