Carrington Academy Students Donate 230 Gifts to Local Children

Students collected gifts for KARE for Kids, Inc. to fulfill the holiday wishes of local children

Students at Carrington Academy preschools in Alpharetta and Cumming recently collected more than 230 gifts for KARE for Kids, Inc., a nonprofit organization that provides Christmas gifts to underprivileged children. The donations were the result of “star tree” programs at four participating schools, during which students worked together to collect a variety of wish list items, including clothes, shoes, toys and games to benefit local children during the holidays. At the end of the collections, students prepared the donations for pick-up by a representative from the organization.

In addition to the gift drives, students donated more than 700 nonperishable food items to the food pantries at Cumming First United Methodist Church and Fulton County Community Charities. Through these initiatives, students learned the importance of helping others, especially during the holiday season.
