Grandmas Tied Up During Violent Home Invasion In Alpharetta
Two men ransacked a home Monday in the Glen Abbey neighborhood and took thousands of dollars in cash and jewelry, Alpharetta police said.

ALPHARETTA, GA — Three women, including two grandmothers, were held against their will late Monday while two men stole tens of thousands of dollars in cash and jewelry during a violent home invasion, according to an incident report released by the Alpharetta Department of Public Safety.
Officers were dispatched around 10:40 p.m. June 25 to a home in the 600 block of Barnesley Lane in the Glen Abbey neighborhood and met with three women, who said they were all tied up on the living room floor while two men rummaged through their belongings.
According to the report, a 25-year-old woman said she was in her bedroom talking on a phone when a man armed with a handgun entered the room, pointed the firearm at her and asked who else was in the home.

The male subject snatched the phone from her hand, took $6,000 in cash from a black shoebox and ushered the woman downstairs where she was tied up with zip ties. Her grandmothers, who are 73 and 74 years old, respectively, had also been tied up on the floor. One grandmother told police she was hanging up a garment downstairs when "someone came from behind and placed their hands around her head."
"She stated the male struck her in the face before pulling her arms behind her back and binding them with zip ties," the report said, with the officer noting the woman had a large red mark on the right side of her face.

The other woman noted she was sleeping on the sofa when she heard a loud noise. She woke up to a man aiming a handgun at her face, the report states.
"She stated she put her head down and the male came over to her and bound her with zip ties before forcing her to the ground," the report added.

After all three women were tied up, the two men "ransacked" several rooms. According to the report, taken from the home was a family safe, $80,000 in cash, a thick 24-carat Chinese gold bracelet valued at $4,000; an 18-inch, 24-carat gold chain with a cross pendant valued at $1,500; two white gold women's rings; one gold ring with diamonds valued at $1,000; and the $6,000 in cash nabbed from the young woman's bedroom.
The pair also took the keys to the victim's 2017 silver Honda Accord and left the home in that car, which was later found abandoned on Bracebridge Road. One of the women was able to free herself, and the 9-1-1 call was made after they were all untied.
The accused home invaders are described as two black men who were wearing dark clothing. One was described as skinny while the other had a heavy-set frame. They were also wearing gloves, but the first and middle fingers on the right glove worn by the larger man were exposed. No additional physical descriptions of the men were provided.
The report also notes the parents of the 25-year-old woman arrived at the home and told police that one of the security guards at the subdivision "had been parking very close to their residence over the past several months." The daughter also mentioned there was a white van parked near the home all day Monday. The only other person who has regular access to the home was the man charged with performing pest control, the parents told police.
Alpharetta Department of Public Safety spokesperson Officer Howard Miller said detectives are "following up on several strong leads" in the case, and the investigation remains active. A search of the area was also unsuccessful.
"We do believe this family was targeted specifically, and we do not believe there is a danger to the rest of our community," Miller added.
