On Dec. 1, 2021, we’ll be celebrating its 15th birthday – as well as the man who has been Milton’s mayor since the beginning – and we’d love for you to join us.
This special event at City Hall is for those involved in making Milton the great city that it is today. Topping that list is citizens like yourselves who have been central to every decision and every step in Milton’s history.

The City has evolved from a relatively bare-bones operation working out of non-descript rented office suites to become a service-focused, innovative, citizen-driven government based in fully functional, unique spaces like City Hall and the Public Safety Complex. Milton is one-of-a-kind in its spirit, proud rural heritage, and strong community – and its government has strived to be the same.
And you can’t talk about Milton’s progress over its first 15 years without talking about Joe Lockwood. First voted in prior to the City’s incorporation, he has been re-elected three times since and earned a reputation as a patient listener, consensus builder, responsive public servant, and leader who cares deeply about Milton and puts citizens first. As such, Mayor Lockwood will be an important part of the upcoming festivities ahead of his departure from office early this January.
The Dec. 1 event will start at 6:30 p.m. and run until approximately 8:30 p.m. Attendees will gather for appetizers, drinks (the latter compliments of the Milton Business Council), and the camaraderie of fellow people who love our city. The event will also feature remarks from men and women leaders who love, understand and have helped shape Milton, including Mayor Lockwood.
If you’d like to come, please email rsvp@cityofmiltonga.us. Space is limited for this free event, so let us know soon!
