City Playground To Briefly Close For Maintenance In Alpharetta
There are plans to briefly close a community playground and reopen it ahead of fall break in Alpharetta.
ALPHARETTA, GA — Alpharetta city officials on Thursday announced the temporary closure of Wacky World due to maintenance.
The City of Alpharetta will close the Old Milton Parkway playground from Sept. 14-17 ahead of fall break in Fulton County.
Maintenance will include the application of epoxy as a protective coat, the city said.

"Thanks for your patience while Wacky World gets the maintenance it needs to keep up with all those busy little feet," city officials said.
Wacky World was first constructed in May 1997. It took the community six days to build the attraction, and the playground was later rebuilt.

Since then, city officials said the playground has garnered tons of attention.
"In fact, the playground has seen the kind of foot traffic in just a few months that we would normally expect over the course of a full year. Turns out, when you build a giant new playground, people actually want to use it. A lot," city officials said.
The playground will reopen to visitors on Sept. 18.
