Detectives Arrest Alpharetta Entering Auto Suspects

The three investigators encountered one man quickly exiting and entering vehicles in a parking lot outside a restaurant.

ALPHARETTA, GA -- Alpharetta police detectives finishing up lunch at a local restaurant were able to catch three entering auto suspects in the act.

The three investigators wrapped up lunch around 12:05 p.m. Aug. 9 and ventured out to the parking lot. Once there, they noticed a male "quickly exit a vehicle and climb into another vehicle," the Alpharetta Department of Public Safety said Thursday.

As the detectives continued their approach, a third vehicle quickly left the scene. Two investigators made contact with two male suspects in the parking lot while the third detective followed the vehicle that left the parking lot.

"Based upon their experience detectives quickly determined the two males were actively attempting entering auto crimes," department spokesperson George Gordon said.

Detectives worked the scene, and were able to recover stolen items such as driver's licenses, credit cards, checkbooks and cell phones.

Alpharetta police say the suspects had in their possession a wig and bolt cutter they used to commit their alleged crimes. The investigator who pursued the third accomplice made a traffic stop, and learned that the vehicle had a stolen license plate affixed to the car.

The three suspects were taken into custody, and the victims were notified their property had been recovered.

Arrested and charged in connection to the incident are:

  • Kimberly D. Cole, 33, of Cartersville: loitering and prowling, theft by receiving, possession of tools for the commission of a crime, seatbelt violation, fleeing and eluding a police officer and various traffic offenses.
  • Anthony Raynard Malone, 35, of Smyrna: loitering and prowling and theft by receiving.
  • Sunrah Sirjoe Nunley, 42, of Lithonia: loitering and prowling, theft by receiving, giving false name, identity fraud, possession of tools for commission of a crime and forgery in the fourth degree.

"Clearly the recovery of wigs and a large bolt cutter was indicative of the fact this crew intended to commit other crimes in our area," said Alpharetta Department of Public Safety Director Gary George. "Because of the good work done by our detectives, their crime spree has come to an abrupt end in a jail cell.”
