Drugs, Glock Switch Found During Traffic Stop In Alpharetta: Cops

ALPHARETTA, GA — A traffic stop ended with a driver's arrest and felony charges recently near Mansell and Old Roswell roads, Alpharetta Police said Tuesday.

An officer conducted the traffic stop Monday night and found a Glock switch, morphine, Xanax and marijuana in the driver's possession, police said.

The driver, who was not identified, faces five felony charges and six misdemeanor charges, police said. It is unknown why the vehicle was stopped.

"This is a good reminder that traffic enforcement is about more than just what happens behind the wheel. Illegal weapons and controlled substances were on our roads, moving through our community. They’re not anymore. Getting these items out of circulation means they’re not making their way to someone else or becoming someone else’s problem," police said in a Facebook post published Tuesday.

"We’re proud of the officer who took action and grateful to all of our officers who work every day to help protect the people and places that make Alpharetta home. And, as always, make good choices out there. It’s a whole lot easier that way."
