The Lady Eagles again were highlighted by the multi-scoring senior Kia Carson. Her new school record in the 100 meters (12.28w) broke a record that had stood since 1977! Her record performance led her to 2nd place in the 100 meters just after finishing 5th in the long jump (16-10) just missing her school record jump from a week ago. Carson also competed in the 4x100 relay & the 4x400 relay as well. Milton also scored with senior Devon Artis. Her 400 meter (59.46) performance was good for 5th place turning back many top-state 400 meter performers as she to competed in both the 4x100 & 4x400 relays!

BOYS
Milton started off the meet with its best performance winning the 4x800 meter relay in convincing style by 20 seconds. The 8:18.94 mark is the 3rd best time in school history and just missed the meet record by a little over two seconds. Senior Kevin McGorrey led off and built a overwhelming lead that was never challenged. His 2:04.5 split was just off his personal best but his teammates all recorded their best times for the 800 meter distance as freshman Michael McCarthy (2:04.6), junior Mikey Newell (2:06.4) and sophomore Jack Bluth (2:03.4) comprised the winning team! Senior Connor McNamara was the other Eagle scorer as his 11-foot effort in the pole vault garnered him a well-deserved 6th place medal.
The varsity teams next compete in the prestigious Coaches Invitational, hosted by Pope High School on the Georgia Tech Univ track on Friday-Saturday March 14-15, along with some athletes travelling to Roswell for the Rotary Relays also being held on March 15th.
