Ellis Re-Elected Vice Chair Of Fulton BOC

Bob Ellis was first elected to the post in 2017, replacing the late District 4 Commissioner Joan Garner, who died in April 2017.

MILTON, GA — The Fulton County Commission at its Jan. 10 meeting re-elected District 2 Commissioner Bob Ellis to serve as its vice chairman for 2018. Ellis was first named to the position in 2017 to replace the late District 4 Commissioner Joan Garner, who passed away in April.

"We saw leadership changes to the Board of Commissioners in 2017, and it was my honor to serve as vice chairman during the transitional period," said Fulton County Commissioner Bob Ellis. "We have accomplished much and have set great goals for 2018. I look forward to working with Chairman Robb Pitts and my fellow Commissioners as we move Fulton forward to continue providing the best services possible to our residents."

Ellis was first elected to the County Commission in November 2014 and re-elected to a four-year term in 2016. He represents District 2, which encompasses Milton, Mountain Park and large parts of Alpharetta, Roswell and Sandy Springs.

As the leader of Fulton’s strategic priority to ensure government is efficient and effective, Ellis has been a champion for transparency, rebuilding Fulton County infrastructure, improving personnel and purchasing procedures, strengthening County management, and championing a culture of excellent customer service. He has also been a leader in seeking to reform the county’s property tax system, improve delivery of both behavioral and public health services, launch key efforts to end the local opioid epidemic and fight sex trafficking.

A native of Commerce, Ellis graduated with highest honors from the University of Georgia’s Terry School of Business and is a long-time resident of North Fulton County. He and his wife Jennifer have three children and reside in Milton.

Ellis is an active, long-term member of Northbrook United Methodist Church in Roswell where he has served in numerous leadership roles and teaches Sunday school.
