Free Fall Gardening Class: Planting Trees and Shrubs

North Fulton Master Gardeners Host Free Fall Gardening Class: Planting Trees and Shrubs

The UGA/Fulton County Cooperative Extension and the North Fulton Master Gardeners will offer free classes for homeowners, "Fall in Georgia - the Best Time to Plant Trees and Shrubs."

Fall is prime time in Georgia to plant or move trees and shrubs, as well as prepare soil for next year's plantings. Our clay soil is easier to work with in the fall and most shrubs and trees will do better when they have the opportunity to get established over the winter. Each class will cover: common tasks for planting; planting trees; preparing soil for ornamentals; selecting the best shrub for different locations; planting and moving shrubs; mulching and watering; and additional resources. This informative class will be offered in both Alpharetta and Roswell.
