Explore Your Creativity With Alpharetta Art Programs

ALPHARETTA, GA -- Creativity will sizzle this summer with a series of art programs offered in August by the Alpharetta Recreation and Parks Department.

The following programs will be offered through the Alpharetta Arts Center at Crabapple:

Teen Summer Art Experience explores principles of design, drawing, painting, and mixed media. Hands-on demonstrations, class critiques, and portfolio work included. Monday-Friday, 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Week-long session for ages 13-17 held Aug. 1-5.

Create with Me lets little ones discover the fun of creating art together with parent participation. Seasonally-themed projects include mixed media, painting concepts, shape discovery, and ceramics. Tuesday, 9:45 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Four-week session for ages 2-5 starts Aug. 9

Drawing for Homeschoolers uses patterning, shading, perspective and color to create unique works of art, explore art history, and learn to draw portraits, figures, landscapes, still-life, and a few cartoons. Friday, noon to 1:15 p.m. Multi-week session for ages 6-10 starts Aug. 12

Creative Playgrounds leads little artists to create a special piece of art each month. For ages 3-5, with parent participation, from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 18.

Art Experience is an arts-sampling workshop for adults, exploring various art mediums. This month’s focus is on printmaking. For adults 50+ on Saturday, Aug. 13 from 10 a.m. to noon at Alpharetta Adult Activity Center.
