UPDATE: Rucker Road Reopens To Traffic

Harris Road remains close where it intersects with Rucker Road and the city expects the intersection will remain closed through the evening.

UPDATE at 5:10 p.m.: The city of Alpharetta has reopened Rucker Road to traffic just in time for the evening rush hour.

“While Rucker Road is open, however, Harris Road remains closed where it intersects Rucker,” the city wrote on its Facebook page. “No traffic will be allowed to turn onto Harris Road from Rucker Road or to access Rucker from Harris. That portion of the intersection will likely remain closed through this evening.”

Fallen trees and power lines have forced the city of Alpharetta to close one of its intersections.

Rucker Road at Harris Road will likely remain closed for a large part of Tuesday ”as crews work to repair power lines and remove debris,” the city wrote on its Facebook page.

The intersection sits west of downtown Alpharetta.

Alpharetta officers on the scene reported “multiple large trees” have fallen across the roadway.

“Additionally, some cleanup and repair cannot be completed until a second band of strong rain now approaching our area clears,” the city added.

Motorists are strongly advised to avoid the area and to find alternate routes.
