Fatal Motorcycle Crash Remains Under Investigation

MILTON, GA -- Police traffic investigators continue to work the fatal crash that killed a 25-year-old motorcyclist last month in Milton.

Lead traffic investigator Charles Fannon said officers are waiting for the Fulton County Medical Examiner Officer's report as well as any toxicology screenings before "moving forward with any charges" in connection to the Sept. 30 accident that killed Jordan Ostrom Franz.

Police, fire and emergency medical personnel all responded to the scene of the two-vehicle accident around 8:50 p.m. along Thompson Road at Watboro Hill Drive (SIGN UP: Get Patch's Daily Newsletter and Real Time News Alerts. Or, if you have an iPhone, download the free Patch app).

Franz said the collision involved a passenger vehicle and resulted in the death of Franz, who was operating the motorcycle. According to his obituary, Franz was born in Morristown, New Jersey. He attended schools in Milton and majored in finance and economics before graduating from college.

A funeral service was held Oct. 5 at Birmingham United Methodist Church. Franz is survived by father, Daniel Franz of Milton; mother, Trace Thompson of Tampa, Florida; sister, Haley Franz; grandmother, Carol Franz; and many aunts, uncles and cousins, his obituary adds.
