Fire Heavily Damages Home In Alpharetta

ALPHARETTA, GA -- An Alpharetta family's home suffered serious damage earlier this week in a fire reported late into the evening on Halloween. Crews with the Alpharetta Fire Department as well as Johns Creek Fire Department both received the call of the blaze shortly after 10 p.m. Oct. 31 at a home on Waters Ridge Drive.

"Unfortunately, the family will be displaced for a little while, but everybody is safe," the agency said on its Facebook page.

The department went on to praise its partnership with the city of Johns Creek when it comes to providing public safety assistance to its respective citizens.

"Waters Road is near the border with Johns Creek, and it is normal for us to run mutual aid with them (or any of our neighbors)," said Alpharetta Fire Chief Public Affairs Officer Jim Cheatham, referring to the main thoroughfare served by the neighborhood.

Cheatham added the fire remains under investigation.
