Former Gov. Barnes Endorses Kaple In Congressional Race
Bobby Kaple, a Milton resident, is seeking to unseat incumbent Republican Karen Handel in Georgia's 6th Congressional District race.

ALPHARETTA, GA — A Democrat running to challenge U.S. Rep. Karen Handel for the 6th Congressional District seat in the Nov. 8 election has received the backing of former Georgia Gov. Roy Barnes.
Barnes announced his support to Kaple, a former television news anchor who is running in the May 22 Democratic primary for the seat.
"Bobby has not only been a member of our community, but he's been in our living rooms as a newscaster here in Atlanta," said Governor Barnes. "He knows the issues that are important to Georgia families and he'll fight passionately on their behalf. He cares deeply about the issue of children's healthcare, and that's just one of the reasons why I'm supporting Bobby Kaple for Congress."
