FRIENDS OF THE ALPHARETTA LIBRARY (FOTAL) SEEKING HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATING SENIOR APPLICANTS FOR

TEN SCHOLASHIP AWARDS - $500 EACH

Applications are now being accepted for scholarships awarded from the Friends of the Alpharetta Library (FOTAL) to high school seniors who attend schools within the City of Alpharetta city limits. Due to the generosity of the community citizens who donate books for our monthly book sales and for our book store inside the library, our sales have increased and FOTAL is now able to award ten scholarships, each totaling $500.

The recipient:

  • Must be graduating from one of the schools within the City of Alpharetta city limits. This may be a private school, a public school or a home-schooled student;
  • Schools included are Home School Hangout, Kings Ridge Christian School, Alpharetta High School, Independence High School, Legacy Community Academy, Veritas Classical School and Fulton Science Academy;
  • Must have been accepted by a college/university or an accredited institution of higher learning and
  • Must submit an application listing accomplishments, extracurricular activities, etc. and compose an essay (250-500 words) regarding the importance of a free, public library in today’s society.

The application must be received on or before April 30, 2017. It may be mailed to: Friends of the Alpharetta Library

Or, you may bring the completed application to the FOTAL book store inside the Alpharetta Library on or before April 30th.

Applications may be obtained by going to www.fotal.org and clicking on Scholarships or may be picked up in the FOTAL book store inside the library.
