Fulton Schools Redistricting Meetings Start May 7

The North Fulton meeting will be held at Alpharetta High School while the South Fulton meeting will take place at Banneker High School.

ALPHARETTA, GA — The Fulton County School System will host two meetings in May to inform parents about the district's process for changing school attendance zones.

The North Fulton meeting will be held on Monday, May 7 at Alpharetta High School while the South Fulton meeting will take place at Tuesday, May 8 at Banneker High School. Both meetings will be held from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in the schools' gyms.

Information will be presented about the general process so that parents are informed and understand how it works should their school be involved in a redistricting situation. Parents and community members representing all schools in Fulton County are invited to attend.

Yngrid Huff, the district’s executive director of Operational Planning, will share the current redistricting policy and how primary and secondary criteria are used to develop attendance zone maps during a typical rezoning process. Following the general session in the gym, school district staff will be on hand to gather additional questions in small group settings.

Before the meeting, participants can indicate through this survey which redistricting-related issues they want to know more about. The survey will be available until Friday, April 27. Information and materials about the Fulton redistricting process, as well as the district’s last two rezonings, can be found on the system's website.

Banneker High School is located at 6015 Feldwood Road in College Park and Alpharetta High School is located at 3595 Webb Bridge Road in Alpharetta.
