Fulton Science Academy Student Lands Role in 20th Century Fox Thriller, "LOGAN"

Fulton Science Academy Private School sixth grader, Hannah Westerfield, cast as "Rebecca" in X-Men Film Franchise

FULTON SCIENCE ACADEMY STUDENT LANDS ROLE IN 20TH CENTURY FOX THRILLER, “LOGAN”

Alpharetta, GA. – March 3, 2017 – Early wake up calls are no stranger to Fulton Science Academy sixth grader, Hannah Westerfield, but this summer her alarm beeped for something other than school. Westerfield auditioned and was chosen to play the role of “Rebecca” in 20th Century Fox’s highly anticipated film, “Logan,” scheduled for worldwide release today, Friday, March 3, 2017.

The film, which is the latest installment in the X-Men franchise, features acting veterans Hugh Jackman and Patrick Stewart. The film is directed by James Mangold and is the newest Wolverine movie to hit movie screens worldwide.

Hannah is shown running away from villains who are in pursuit of her and her friends during the movie. Filming took place last year and was shot in multiple locations. While on set, Westerfield worked directly with Hugh Jackman and enjoyed sharing screen time with several other talented actors and actresses.

“I guess you could say that this whole experience has been surreal for me,” said Westerfield. “Here I am on the red carpet being recognized for something I love – acting! I am incredibly humbled to be a part of this film and really enjoyed working with such an incredible cast and crew.”

Hannah has been acting since she was seven years old. Her career accelerated after being cast in an independent horror film called “Smoke & Mirrors.” Hannah had an opportunity to push her acting skills to the limit and her performance caught the attention of talent agents based in Atlanta, Los Angeles, and New York.

Several months after signing with her manager, Sandy Oroumieh of Rothman/Andres Entertainment, and talent agent, Alex White of Alexander White Agency, Hannah auditioned and booked her role in Logan. She has been very busy auditioning for other roles ever since.

Hannah takes acting very seriously, but also thinks it’s important to balance her acting commitments with homework, school activities, and personal time with friends and family. Hannah is also on the Principal’s Honor Roll at Fulton Science Academy, is a member of the Broadcast & Journalism Club, and is currently competing with her school team in Destination Imagination. Other activities include horseback riding, swimming and fencing.

Working on the set of Logan was an experience of a lifetime. “I learned so much more about movie production and made many friends along the way,” said Westerfield. “I bring a healthy dose of curiosity with me to every role. As Bette Davis once said, ‘Without wonder and insight, acting is just a business. With it, it becomes creation.’ For me, the opportunity to create exciting experiences through new characters is not a job, it’s a privilege.”

Hannah Westerfield is represented by Don Buchwald & Associates, AWA Talent Agency, and Rothman/Andres Entertainment. You can follow Hannah’s acting adventures on Instagram @hannahwesterfield and Twitter @followhannah.
