Fundraiser To Benefit Milton Eagles Football Program

Milton Summer Nights will be held July 30 at the Atlanta National Golf Clubhouse.

MILTON, GA -- The Milton Touchdown Club will host its so-called party of the summer to raise money for its football team.

An evening of cocktails, dinner and community fun -- dubbed Milton Summer Nights -- will be held from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday July 30 at the Atlanta National Golf Clubhouse.

The event will also feature a live, silent auction to benefit the Milton High School football program.

“We are bringing the entire Milton community together to get behind one of the most premier football programs in the state of Georgia,” said Colby Leonard, president of the Milton Touchdown Club. “We’ve created a memorable night at the beautiful Atlanta National Golf Clubhouse in the heart of the Milton, and we invite everyone to enjoy a beautiful summer night out with friends and neighbors.”

Event guests will get a sneak peak at the 2016 hype video for Milton football with head coach Howie DeCristofaro, who led Milton to the 2014 AAAAAA Region Championship and the school’s first Georgia state playoff win. DeCristofaro has coached football for more than 30 years, sending 45 Eagles players onto college play in the past five years.

“The Eagles have worked extremely hard to prepare for the upcoming football season," the head coach added. "They are humble yet confident of their abilities."

Milton will move to AAAAAAA for the 2016 year. Its home opener will include facing off against neighbor, Cambridge High School, on Sept. 2. Away games include Alpharetta on Sept. 19 and North Gwinnett on Sept. 26.

The first region game is Oct. 7 against West Forsyth at home.

Proceeds from the event will benefit the Milton Eagles varsity, junior varsity and freshmen football teams, as well as sixth-, seventh- and eighth-grade feeder teams. There are currently more than 240 athletes in the program.

“Milton Touchdown Club funds the Milton Football field house which includes locker rooms, training rooms and team meeting rooms," Leonard added. "We built the field house 10 years ago, and we pay 100 percent of the cost of the building including the mortgage payment, cleaning and maintenance,” says Leonard. “We are renovating the players’ locker room in time for the 2016 season to include the expansion of shower facilities, new equipment lockers for players, and improved heating and cooling.”

The Milton Touchdown Club also offers a summer weightlifting and conditioning program for players and augments Fulton County Schools’ budget to provide high-quality helmets, shoulder pads and other equipment. The club provides all game day uniforms, pre-game meals, protein powder, coaching stipends, and special training programs for its high school teams.

Funds from the Milton Touchdown Club provide the Jumbo Tron used by other sports at the Milton Stadium, as well as football equipment for competitive advantage such as 25-second clocks on the field, and video replay system on the sideline used during games to adjust schemes and positioning.

A 501c3 non-profit organization, the Milton Touchdown Club’s mission is to provide a positive environment and atmosphere for the Milton Eagles Football program that inspires and creates a common rallying point for athletes, students, coaches, parents and the community.

The focus is on the development of the players on the field, and on their personal development as young men as they prepare for meaningful lives beyond football.

Tickets to “Milton Summer Nights” at the Atlanta National Golf Clubhouse are $25 per person and can be purchased at www.miltoneaglesfootball.com. Dinner is included, but the event will feature a cash bar.
