GA 400 Message Boards Alight with Amber Alert
A 2-year-old and a 4-year-old were taken from their Florida home on Wednesday night, with their grandmother left behind tied up.
If you've driven on GA 400 since late Wednesday night, you've probably seen the Amber Alert on the GDOT sign messaging system. A pair of children from Hillsborough County, FL, were abducted and they may have been taken north into Georgia.
Hillsborough County Sheriff’s deputies are looking for help to find two children they say were taken from their grandmother’s Lake Magdalene home around 6:30 a.m. on Wednesday, April 3.

Deputies say the children’s father, Joshua Michael Hakken, 35, went to the 14040 Shady Shores Drive home belonging to his mother-in-law Patricia Hauser Wednesday morning. He tied her up, took the children, Chase, 2, and Cole, 4, and left in Hauser’s 2009 silver Toyota Camry, according to a sheriff’s office media release.
“Both suspects are anti-government and have attempted a previous abduction at gun point in Louisiana,” the release said.

Anyone who has seen the vehicles or the Hakkens is asked to call 911 immediately. Local authorities will investigate and in turn contact the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s office.
Deputies say it’s possible the children are now being transported in a black 2006 GMC pickup truck registered to Joshua Hakken. The pickup has the Florida tag number of U95KT, and may be pulling a 2012 Forrest River pop camper with a Florida tag of BHNV-86
