Get Out For a Fun Weekend

Planning for some fun this weekend? Take advantage of the balmy weather and go somewhere!

Raise funds for fighting breast cancer, meet an author or listen to some tunes: bluegrass to 19th century masterpieces, these are just a few of our favorite things to do this weekend,  Mar. 18-19.

Why Go: What a great way to have kids see an American classic! Alpharetta High School presents Oklahoma!, which celebrates America’s pioneering spirit with boot stomping energy. Local cowboys and farmers rivalry sets a colorful background for Laurey, a local farm girl. Memorable songs, a “dream ballet,” and comedic subplots secure a great entertainment event for the entire family.

Price: $10 advance ticket sales

Where/When: OFF Broadway Dance, 12315 Crabapple Rd, Alpharetta, GA 30004,  Friday, March 18 & 25 at 7:30 p.m.; Saturday, March 19 & 25 at 7:30 p.m.

Why Go: The Disney classic Cinderella comes to kids, by kids, from OFF Broadway. With music including A Dream Is a Wish Your Heart Makes and the classic Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo, this musical will charm its way into your heart, and remind you that dreams really can come true.

Price: VIP Reserved Front Row - $12.50; Adults - $10.50; seniors and students - $7.50

Where/When: , 1810 Hembree Rd, Alpharetta, GA 30009, Saturday, March 19, 8 a.m. – 2 p.m.

Why Go:Roswell, Alpharetta and Milton Public Works Departments, along with Keep Roswell Beautiful are joining together offering residents in these areas a chance to clean out their garages, basements, and attics and dispose of unwanted items at no charge. Proof of residency will be required. This event has become so popular, please expect delays.

Price: Free

Volunteers and donors come together to drop-off, process and sort donations given to benefit orphaned children in Haiti and Dominican Republic.

Price: Donation of shoes

Where/When: , 6290 Abbotts Bridge Rd, Duluth, GA 30097, Sat March 19, 1 p.m. – 2 p.m. (bowl preview sale); 5:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. Chili Cook Off.

Why Go: All are invited to join Johns Creek Community Arts Center for their annual Chili Cook-Off. Bowls Preview Sale will be from 1-2 pm, come early to get first pick of all the bowls! Enjoy snacks and refreshments as you browse and purchase your one-of-a-kind bowl. Then be ready for your taste buds to enjoy the savory flavors of chili as all the local chefs boast their chili.
