Get Out: Things to Do This Weekend

Whether it's a performance by Miranda Lambert, an art show in Alpharetta or concert down on the farm, there's probably something fun for you to do.

Why Go?: Enjoy the grand opening reception at Monfort’s Fine Art to enjoy the Church Street Village Art Show featuring the works of the Alpha Arts Guild. Meet the artists and discuss their works while enjoying hors d’oeuvres and refreshments. Works will be on display Tuesday – Saturday for your viewing pleasure. Why Go?: Mutts and more Festival is hosted by the Humane Society of Forsyth County. It will be a full day for the family full with valuable pet care tips. Learn from veterinarians, groomers and trainers. Enjoy animal shows and review the latest products. Plus enjoy Fun food, rides & games. Special day events include a Race to Rescue 5K run, Mutt Stut , Pet Fair Family Fun (Pet and family vendors, shows, carnival games, rides, food), and music and dining after dusk.

Where/When: 78 Thompson Pl, Roswell, GA 30075, Saturday June 4, 6 p.m.–12 p.m.

Why Go?: The Taste of Low Country is in the 6th year in raising money for the Leukemia Society.  Last year $8,000.00 was raised and this year our goal is $12,000.00.  Delicious crawfish, BBQ, from the local restaurants will be served alone with hamburger and hot dogs for the kids.  Fun for all and all the money goes to a great cause.

Where/When: 8879 Roswell Road, Sandy Springs, GA, Saturday June 4, 2:30 p.m.–8 p.m.

Why Go?: An afternoon and evening of fun, food and music while helping to raise funding for CNC’s wildlife and education programs.  Talented Danny “Mudcat” Dudeck will be the featured musician, performing a special acoustical solo performance of blues music! Have your face painted and meet rehabilitated wildlife up close at live animal encounters on the plaza at the North River Tavern located in Sandy Springs at 8879 Roswell Road.

Why Go?: Tour historic buildings, enjoy Tea and Victorian Crafts in the Summerour House, Old Timers Round table, gem mining demonstration, musical performance by High Cotton, exhibits and much more. Concessions available.  GA public/private elementary or preschool teacher free admission with valid id. Please register at our educators table.

Price: $5 members/$7 non-members max $20/$25 per family.

Where/When: , 1140 Liberty Grove Rd, Alpharetta, GA 30004, Saturday  June 4, 7:30 p.m.

Why Go?: The Chukkar Farm Concert Series kicks off it's 5th year of bringing the best performing songwriters in America to Alpharetta. On this night Georgia's own James Casto is joined by Marc Alan Barnette, and Kim Parent. Tables seating 2, 4, 6, and 8 along with general admission tickets available at www.homebydark.com. Most shows sell-out so buy early
