Event will be held rain or shine. Also enjoy the thriving Farmers Market which takes place each Saturday morning in the area beside City Hall.

Why Go?: Join the 2011 Overcome Ovarian Cancer Three Mile Walk, a day of celebrating, honoring, and remembering gynecologic cancer survivors, their families, caregivers and friends. Strollers and pets are welcomed. Proceeds raised will support the Georgia Ovarian Cancer Alliance (GOCA) community outreach programs.

Around Cumming
Where/When: Thirteen locations around Lake Lanier, Saturday, Sept. 24, 8 a.m. - 1 p.m.
Why Go? Keep Forsyth County Beautiful and the Lake Lanier Association are working together to clean Lake Lanier. Forsyth County locations participating in the event include Bald Ridge Marina, Habersham Marina, and Port Royale Marina. Volunteers report to a participating location to pick up trash bags and a shore line area assignment for trash collection. All volunteers turning in at least one full bag of trash receive a t-shirt. Advance registration for the event is not required, but it helps in scheduling shoreline coverage. Please contact lakeinfo@lakelanier.org.

Why Go?: Set in post civil war Alabama, this classic tells the story of Annie Sullivan and her student, blind and mute Helen Keller. The Miracle Worker dramatizes the volatile relationship between the lonely teacher and her charge. This 2011 presentation of the Miracle Worker is produced and directed by Gypsy Theatre Company. A portion of this show’s proceeds will go to The Forsyth County Lions Club and their work with sight conservation and the blind in our community.

Why Go?: In this comedy, Stella is the aging star of the popular Ritz Theatre. She and her fellow company of actors are preparing for the epic play "Civil War Darlin's," when a visit to a rehearsal changes everything! Between the director, playwright, cast, visiting reporters and a set of twins, things get interesting quickly!

Why Go?: United BMW Roswell is hosting a car show this weekend as a preview to the 1,000 mile Petit Le Mans race at Road Atlanta on Oct. 1. The event will showcase some of BMW Motorsports racing heritage.
