Get Out: Things to Do This Weekend in the Alpharetta-Milton Area

Why: Mothers, daughters, granddaughters, aunts, nieces, and other special ladies are invited to attend this luncheon. Co-sponsored by Alpharetta Recreation and Parks Department and Alpharetta Golden Age Club, everyone is asked to bring a covered dish luncheon to share.  Special keepsakes will be given to participants. This program requires pre-registration of all participants.

Why: The Annual Craft Sale at the Alpharetta Library will be held in conjunction with the Monthly Book Sale (rain or shine). An artist will be providing demonstrations of her craft with her pottery wheel.

Why: Help raise funds to help fight ALS, Lou Gehrig’s disease by participating in this great run. Funds will benefit the Emory ALS Center. Awards will be presented to the top 3 by gender and age groups. Great post race food, door prizes and t-shirts.

Price: 5K: $20 preregistration, $25 on race day; Fun Run: $5 preregistration, $10 on race day

Why: A celebration of mom is the perfect time to enjoy the elegance of an intimate tea party. The Chefs will speak of the finer areas of enjoying tea and the delightful accompaniments while you indulge in the company of the one who will always love you.

Why: The Aquafina Major League Baseball Pitch, Hit, and Run event is a great opportunity for the youth to be a part of an official baseball/softball skills local competition. There are separate boy's baseball and girls softball divisions competing in three important aspects of  baseball/softball: pitching, hitting, and running. Each division is split into 4 age groups: 7-8, 9-10, 11-12, and 13-14.

Where/When: 575 Riverside Rd, Roswell, GA 30075, Saturday, May 7, 7-9 p.m.

Why: An outdoor summer concert series at Riverside Park. Food is available for purchase at the concession stand or you may bring your own.  Blankets and chairs are welcome and seating is on a first come, first served basis.  In case of inclement weather, the concert will be cancelled. Tonight’s band is ZydeFunk
