Household Hazardous Waste Collection Set For June 11

Alpharetta's event, which residents must pre-register for, will be held at the city's Public Works Department.

ALPHARETTA, GA -- Alpharetta residents will soon have a chance to clear out hazardous waste from their homes during a one-day recycling event.

The city will be collecting household hazardous waste and paint to be recycled or disposed on Saturday, June 11 at the Alpharetta Public Works Department.

Common items to be accepted include paint and paint related substances, gasoline that isn’t usable, home and garden chemicals, poisons and many other substances.

There is no charge for disposal of acceptable items. Please refer to the registration form for a complete listing of what to bring and what is prohibited.

Citizens should note this offer is only being extended to residents -- not businesses -- at this time

Once registered, items will be accepted between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. ​June ​11 with no exceptions. Residents will be instructed to remain in their vehicle at the collection site while technicians unload their vehicles.

What do you have to do to participate?

1. Submit a completed pre-registration form. You will get a return confirmation.

2. Bring your confirmation form with your items at the event on June 11.

3. Safely transport items to the collection site keeping them in original containers and separated
