Last Tuesday, when it stayed below 20 degrees all day, I took a walk around the main gardens at the Atlanta Botanical Garden to see how the plants were looking. The thing that struck me was not the plants necessarily, but all the bird activity. The birds were very busy! And every time I came across a bird bath or pond, there were birds standing there looking helpless next to the frozen surface of the water.
