Jeb Bush Joins Jackson Healthcare Advisory Board

Jeb Bush has been appointed to the Jackson Healthcare board of advisors, the Alpharetta-based company announced today.

The former Florida governor joins the advisory board of the third largest healthcare staffing company in the country effective immediately, according to a news release from the company. Bush served as Florida’s governor for two terms and was first elected in 1998. He was instrumental in cutting taxes, reforming education and restructuring healthcare programs. In each case he brought private-sector management ideas to government agencies.

“It is an honor to have such a visionary leader on the Jackson team,” said Richard L. Jackson, chairman and CEO of Jackson Healthcare. “Jeb brings big solutions to big problems and utilizes business practices to find easy remedies.”

Bush said he was delighted to be working with a company that is diligently taking on the healthcare challenges patients face in the next few years.

“There is nothing more important than the doctor-patient relationship, and I’m delighted to be affiliated with a company that is seeking to make sure all of us will have the ability to see a physician when we need one,” Bush said in a quote from the news release.

Bush has other ties to the area. In April 2013, he participated in the ribbon cutting of Roswell's CorMatrix Cardiovascular as a shareholder.

Jackson Healthcare is a privately held company, which reported $500 million in revenues in 2012 and served approximately 5 million patients nationwide.

Bush is the head of Jeb Bush and Associates, a consulting firm that works with a range of companies, including startups to Fortune 500 companies. He and his wife Columba reside in Coral Gables, Florida.

“Jeb’s strategic thinking will give the Jackson family of companies some inventive ideas – whether it in recruiting healthcare providers, improving hospital operations or administering our own charitable giving,” Jackson said.
