The event is part of Alpharetta’s Wild Side, a project to certify Alpharetta as a Community Wildlife Habitat.

“The certification, awarded by the National Wildlife Federation, encourages families and businesses in our city to use native plants in creating habitats for pollinators and other animals that benefit our ecosystem,” said Howard Salk, an NRC member and project coordinator. “We’re excited to have Joe share his vast knowledge of gardening with us. Joe isn’t just an expert gardener, he’s a Georgia resident. He’ll be able to explain how homes and businesses in Alpharetta can create gardens or other small spaces that will feed and shelter the kind of wildlife people want to see in their yard.”
