Johns Creek Symphony Orchestra to open season with The Crystals!

Rock 'n' Roll History comes to Johns Creek for one night only on Sat., Nov. 16 at 7:30 pm.

On Saturday, November 16, 2019 at 7:30 p.m., Johns Creek Symphony Orchestra (JCSO) will bring Rock and Roll history to Johns Creek, as The Crystals take the stage to offer a night of night of Billboard chart-topping hits, including “He’s a Rebel,” “Then He Kissed Me,” “Da Doo Ron Ron,” and more. The concert will take place at Johns Creek United Methodist Church, 11180 Medlock Bridge Road in Johns Creek.

Opening for The Crystals will be JCSO’s string quartet, performing favorite POPS arrangements, and future rock stars from the School of Rock Johns Creek. Single tickets range from $18 to $37 and can be purchased online at www.johnscreeksymphony.org, by phone (678) 748-5802 or at the door. If patrons choose to subscribe to the 2019 season, they will receive a package ticket discount of 20 percent.

“We’re thrilled to bring our first POPS concert to life in a fun, light-hearted and exciting night,” said Music Director J. Wayne Baughman. He continued, “We’ve listened to feedback from our audience and wanted to provide a unique concert for the all ages to enjoy. We know The Crystals are the perfect addition to this exciting season.”

The Crystals

The Crystals first hit the charts in 1961 with their first recording, “There's No Other (Like My Baby”). The song rose to number 20 on the international charts and got them a spot to perform at the Apollo Theater. Their success with five more top ten records: “Uptown,” “He's A Rebel,” “He's Sure The Boy I Love,” “Da Doo Ron Ron” and “Then He Kissed Me.” The Crystals members include original member and Atlanta native, Dee Dee Kenniebrew, Patricia Pritchett-Lewis and MelSoulTree.

Now in its thirteenth season, the Johns Creek Symphony Orchestra is metro Atlanta’s only fully-professional, part-time symphonic orchestra, made up of professional musicians from all over the greater metro Atlanta area.
