Large Branch Crashes Through Windshield in Alpharetta

High winds toppled a tree along GA-400 at the Haynes Bridge Road interchange late Friday morning.

ALPHARETTA, GA -- A motorist traveling on GA-400 in Alpharetta escaped injury late Friday morning when high winds forced a large branch to land on his vehicle.

The driver was on the exit ramp at the Haynes Bridge Road interchange when the branch crashed through the windshield.

The Alpharetta Department of Public Safety said on its Facebook page that the male driver was not injured.

The National Weather Service says a wind advisory remains in effect for north Georgia until 6 p.m. Friday, Oct. 21. The advisory means that winds of 35 miles per hour are expected.
